English: The tensor product of C5 and C3 (on the left) produces a graph containing a cycles with length 15 (on the right). Since this graph contains an odd cycle, it requires three colors; Hedetniemi's conjecture states more generally that the chromatic number of a graph tensor product is always at least equal to the smaller chromatic number of the factors. |
