DescriptionTime-dilation-002.svg
English: The clock, as observed in a frame where it is moving at some speed 'v'. In this case, the photon traces out a triangular path which is longer than in the rest frame. But since the speed of light is the same in all frames, this necessarily leads to a lengthening of the period of the clock, as derived in the image.
